A Healthy Summer Snack: Avocado Fruit Salad

A Healthy Summer Snack: Avocado Fruit Salad

Avocados (Persea Americana) are an excellent source of potassium, fiber and vitamins C,K, folate and B6. If you thought bananas were a great potassium source, you may be surprised to know that avocados have 60 percent more potassium than bananas and they are sodium and cholesterol-free. This easy-to-make recipe features fantastic food pairing—fat and carotenoids. Combining leafy greens with avocado encourages the body to absorb carotenoids which are powerful antioxidants found in a variety of fruits and vegetables.
