What's in Your Water?
If you are not worried about your drinking water, you probably should be. Did you know there are more than 80 regulated contaminants that can sneak their way into the water supply. And there are many unregulated substances like pharmaceutical drugs that also make their way into our drinking water. In this episode of Five to Thrive Live, water filter expert, Cheryl Luptowski talks about water contaminants and what options are available to filter those contaminants. Cheryl Luptowski is the Public Information Officer/Home Safety Expert for NSF International, an independent public health and safety organization that writes standards, tests and certifies products for the construction, food, water and consumer goods industries to minimize adverse health effects and protect the environment. Prior to joining NSF, she worked as a state-certified water treatment plant operator, strengthening her passion for drinking water safety. Cheryl has been working for NSF since 1999, she is the face behind “Ask NSF,” NSF’s online Q&A portal and chairs the NSF Consumer Advisory Panel.
